US-101 runs north-south through Santa Rosa, and SR-12 crosses it, heading west to Sebastopol and east through the Sonoma Valley as the Sonoma Highway. Santa Rosa Avenue, Stony Point Road, Fulton Road, Sebastopol Road and Mendocino Avenue carry local traffic, and Fountaingrove Parkway and Calistoga Road climb into the hill neighborhoods where much of the rebuilding has happened.
Contractors' yards tend to sit in the industrial pockets along the US-101 corridor, where trucks sleep behind fences, while crew pickups often go home with foremen to Windsor, Rohnert Park or farther out. Hillside lots mean long, narrow driveways and steep grades with a loaded trailer, which deserve a line in your driver rules and a look at the safety measures underwriters often credit.
North Bay and Solano fleet insurance covers Sonoma County's other cities and the rest of the region.
The SR-12 freeway across town and US-101 through the center both slow down at commute hours, and the Hearn Avenue and Todd Road interchanges serve the south side, where many shops and yards sit.
Rural parcels at the city's edges often have gravel drives and gates that open by hand, so know where a truck can turn around before sending it in with a trailer.
